About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated part-time Registered Nurse to join our growing, independent Ambulatory Surgery Center Team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care in a fast-paced environment, and possess a background in the peri-operative setting. No nights, weekends, holidays, or call.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in the peri-operative setting of an ASC
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Monitor and record patient vital signs- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures in a surgical setting
Educate patients and their families during their care in the surgical setting
Prepare necessary supplies and equipment for surgery
Conduct pre-op calls and post-op calls with patients (or guardians)
Document patient care thoroughly
Experience
RN experience in pre-op, operating room (OR), or PACU preferred, but will train the right candidate
Able to multitask in a very fast-paced environment- BLS, ACLS & PALS
An understanding of HIPAA compliance and ability to follow CMS guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications
RN License
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification preferred
PALS Certification required (or willingness to obtain PALS Certification)
Experience in Pre-op and PACU (or willing to train)
Medication administration proficiency
IV insertion
Ability to assess patient and provide appropriate care as directed
Knowledge of ophthalmic surgical procedures, pediatric dental procedures, and/or pain managment procedures is a plus but not required
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to assist anesthesia as needed
