Position Summary – Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

  • Delivers coordinated nursing care to individual patients or assigned groups according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
  • Supervises and directs assigned nursing staff.
  • Coordinates care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

    Requirements

    Education & Experience

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Preferred: Acute care facility experience.

    Licenses/Certifications

  • Required: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
  • Required: CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
  • Required: AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS.
  • Required: AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Collect relevant data regarding the patient's health or situation.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
  • Develop care plans and prescribe interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Implement care plans, coordinate care delivery, and promote health and a safe environment.
  • Evaluate progress toward achieving outcomes.
  • Identify appropriate outcomes for patients or their situations.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide safe, healing, humane, and caring patient care.
  • Provide learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
  • Provide health information directly to patients, families, and the treatment team.
  • Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
  • Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
  • Perform other assigned job-related duties.
