About This Position
Job Overview
The Behavioral Health RN will provide professional nursing care to patients in a behavioral health setting, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to support patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs. The RN will be responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and promoting a safe therapeutic environment.
Duties
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with adult, adolescent, and geriatric psychiatric/behavioral health needs.
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Administer medications and treatments safely according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Monitor patients for changes in mental status, behavior, vital signs, and overall clinical condition.
Recognize and respond appropriately to psychiatric or medical emergencies.
Maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Participate in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavioral management as appropriate.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, technicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, coping strategies, and discharge planning.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Cerner EMR.
Requirements
Active RN license required.
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience.
Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
Experience with adult, adolescent, or geriatric psychiatric patients preferred.
Current BLS/BCLS certification required.
Cerner EMR experience preferred.
Must be willing to work night shifts and rotating day/night shifts as required.
Must be available for holiday coverage.
Pay: $2,100.00 - $2,370.00 per week
