About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical operations.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA.
Perform chairside assisting duties with proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to support efficient patient care.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging or procedures related to medical documentation or records when necessary.
Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic productivity.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control guidelines and aseptic techniques at all times.
Demonstrate proficiency in using dental software such as Epic for medical records management and coding procedures accurately for billing purposes.
Skills
Extensive experience with dental assisting in general dentistry settings, including pediatric dentistry and specialized fields such as prosthodontics and endodontics.
Proficiency in EMR eClinical Works for managing medical records and documentation efficiently.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision and safety awareness.
Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment.
Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate record keeping.
Excellent chairside assisting skills combined with the ability to support four-handed dentistry techniques for enhanced efficiency.

Registered Dental Assistant Certification
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, or multi-specialty dental practices.
Experience working with Denti-Cal/Medi-Cal, PPO, HMO, or FQHC environments.
Experience with treatment presentation and financial counseling.
Experience with eClinicalWorks or other dental practice management systems.
