Position Overview

HealthSource Partners ND, LLC is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a part-time Clinical Support Specialist. This role supports our Emergency Medicine physicians by coordinating important patient follow-up activities after patients complete their Emergency Department visits.

The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, comfortable communicating with patients and healthcare providers, and committed to ensuring continuity of care. This position is primarily performed remotely, with rare travel to the Bismarck site.

Key Responsibilities

Contact patients to communicate laboratory, imaging, or other test results that were unavailable before discharge from the Emergency Department.

Call in new prescriptions or coordinate prescription changes as directed by an Emergency Medicine physician.

Coordinate and process prior-authorization requests for outpatient diagnostic studies, including MRIs, echocardiograms, and stress tests.

Facilitate patient referrals by communicating with patients and receiving clinics.

Securely fax or email referral documentation and other required clinical information to appropriate healthcare providers.

Follow up with patients after their Emergency Department visits to assess progress and confirm that recommended appointments have been scheduled.

Answer patient questions within the appropriate scope of nursing practice.

Coordinate additional communication between patients and Emergency Medicine physicians when needed.

Accurately document patient communications and follow-up activities in the appropriate electronic medical record system.

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable clinical and organizational policies.

Qualifications

Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of North Dakota.

Previous clinical experience in an Emergency Department or urgent care setting is strongly preferred.

Strong clinical judgment and the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients.

Excellent organizational, follow-up, and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently while maintaining timely communication with Emergency Medicine physicians.

Reliable access to the internet and telephone.

Ability to obtain and maintain access to the organization’s electronic medical record platform.

Comfortable working with electronic documentation and secure healthcare communications.

Ability to travel occasionally to the Bismarck site; onsite travel is expected to be rare.
