About This Position
Job Summary
Join our team at Mitchell Care Center as a Transportation Manager/Driver, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transit services for our residents! This position combines hands-on driving with leadership responsibilities while overseeing daily scheduling operations. You will be responsible for operating the facility bus and mini-van while adhering to all safety and traffic regulations, interactions, and uphold our commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
Safely operate bus and other transportation vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
Ensure passenger safety by following transportation safety regulations, behavior management protocols, and emergency response procedures for transportation.
Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance and provide support to our residents with special needs, ensuring respectful and compassionate service.
Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle mechanical condition, including checking vehicle codes, mechanical knowledge assessments, and emergency stop procedures.
Maintain accurate records of trips, incidents, vehicle inspections, and passenger interactions; complete shift reports diligently.
Manage and schedule resident appointments as required per regulations or as needed per physician instructions or resident request.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license
Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, heavy lifting techniques, emergency response procedures for transportation, and mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
Certifications such as CNA License to ensure that resident care needs are met during transport services.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, family members, physicians, and physician clinics.
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary; comfortable working in various weather conditions; attention to detail in vehicle inspections.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
