Duties

Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all sterile equipment and supplies are ready for scheduled surgeries, maintaining aseptic technique throughout procedures.

Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during operative procedures by passing instruments, managing suction, and monitoring patient vitals.

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments pre- and post-operation, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.

Administer medications and injections as prescribed, including IV infusions and sedation, following strict safety protocols.

Monitor patients’ condition throughout surgery, responding swiftly to any signs of distress or complications such as acute pain or airway issues.

Document all patient care activities accurately within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.

Support infection control practices by sterilizing instruments, managing specimen collection/processing, and maintaining a sterile environment at all times.

Requirements

Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice.

Proven OR experience with proficiency in aseptic technique and surgical assisting.

Critical care experience preferred, especially in Level I or Level II trauma centers or ICU settings.

Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is a plus.

Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures.

Ability to perform suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, ventilator support, and other advanced nursing skills.

Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to respond effectively during emergencies like trauma or cardiac events.

Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.

Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or other relevant specialties preferred.

Pay: $2,743.00 - $3,242.00 per week
