About This Position
Elsmere Psychiatry Group is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for our hospital-based psychiatric services in the Lubbock, Texas. This leadership position combines clinical excellence with medical oversight, providing the opportunity to shape high-quality behavioral healthcare while leading a collaborative multidisciplinary team. The Medical Director will partner closely with hospital leadership, nursing, therapists, case management, and Elsmere Psychiatry Group to ensure exceptional patient care, physician engagement, and operational excellence across inpatient psychiatric services.

Position Responsibilities
Provide medical leadership and oversight for hospital-based behavioral health programs.
Establish and maintain high standards for quality, safety, and evidence-based psychiatric care.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for hospitalized patients.
Collaborate with hospital administration and multidisciplinary teams to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Participate in physician recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and performance development.
Assist in developing and implementing clinical policies, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and best practices for behavioral health services.
Partner with nursing leadership, therapists, social workers, and case management to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Participate in medical staff meetings, committee work, and leadership initiatives as appropriate.
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Participate in an equitable on-call rotation.
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program
Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
Active or eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Texas
Previous leadership experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief of Psychiatry, or similar leadership role preferred
Demonstrated experience in inpatient psychiatry
Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based behavioral healthcare
