About This Position
Key Responsibilities
The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN/LPN, including:
Assisting patients with activities of daily living
Bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, pericare and Foley care
Feeding and monitoring intake/output
Taking vital signs, height and weight
Collecting urine, stool and sputum specimens
Performing EKGs as ordered under RN/LPN supervision
Positioning, lifting, turning and ambulating patients
Assisting with admissions, transfers and discharges
Maintaining a clean and safe patient environment
Providing CNA support in the ER
Reporting changes in patient condition or behavior to the licensed nurse
Requirements
Active South Dakota CNA certification through the South Dakota Board of Nursing
Minimum 1 year of CNA experience
Acute care/CNA experience preferred
Must be comfortable working 12-hour day and night shifts
Must be able to work in an ER setting under RN supervision
BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
Ability to perform ADLs, vital signs, specimen collection, patient transfers, ambulation, feeding, Foley care, hygiene, and other CNA duties
Must be able to recognize and report changes in patient condition
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
