Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Contract Opportunity

Location: Hot Springs, SD 57747
Contract: 13 Weeks | Possible Extension
Schedule: Varied 8-Hour Shifts
Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Compensation

Travel Contract: $2,000 Weekly Gross
Local Rate: $45/Hour on W-2

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Hot Springs, South Dakota, with the possibility of extension.

The LPN will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and serve as an important communication link between patients and the nursing team.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Assist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.

Participate in the development and updating of individualized patient care plans.

Administer medications and treatments according to physician/provider orders and facility policies.

Provide respiratory therapy modalities as assigned and within scope of practice.

Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

Follow and enforce infection-control policies and procedures.

Organize time and prioritize patient-care responsibilities effectively.

Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition or incidents to the supervising RN.

Respond appropriately to stressful, unusual, and emergency situations.

Establish positive and professional relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Provide patient education during hospitalization and upon discharge.

Assist with orientation and continued learning of new staff members and students as appropriate.

Maintain professional and clinical competency through continuing education.

Apply and share new knowledge and clinical skills with the healthcare team.

Education & Qualifications

Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.

Current and active LPN License required.

CPR certification required.

ACLS certification required.

COVID-19 vaccination required.

Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills.

Basic computer skills and ability to learn facility-specific software and systems.

Ability to assess patient conditions using appropriate visual, auditory, and manual skills.

Ability to work effectively under the supervision of an RN and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Copy of Driver’s License

Two Professional References, preferably from a Manager or Supervisor

Any additional documentation required by the facility

Pay: $1,950.00 - $2,000.00 per week
