About the Job:
At Wisconsin Recovery Institute, a Nurse helps to fulfill the care and treatment of our residents. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, a successful candidate will work within their entire scope of practice. The Nurse will be fully accountable for ensuring that residents are provided with competent and compassionate care that ensures resident safety and satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor resident’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
Observe and interpret resident’s symptoms and communicate them to the Nurse Manager.
Collaborate with Nurse Manager to devise individualized care plans for residents
Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and document in resident charts.
Adjust and administer a patient's medication and provide treatments per physician’s orders.
Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
Provide instant medical care in emergencies.
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for residents.
Participates and completes all required training in accordance with Wisconsin Recovery Institute policy and procedure.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager and/or Executive Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and other Abilities:
Proven experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
Excellent knowledge of emergency care preferred
In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them always is preferred
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills preferred
Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills preferred
Ability to show residents patience and compassion preferred
Excellent problem-solving skills preferred
Education/Experience:
2+ years’ nursing experience preferred
Experience working in a substance abuse treatment facility or behavioral health care preferred
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid LPN or RN license
Valid driver's license or government issued identification
Valid CPR Certification
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN
Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
