Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a TX or compact license and at least 2 years of ED experience.
Details
Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Certified Facility emergency department
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
Patient ratio of 1:3
Weekend requirement of 6 weekends per 6-week schedule
No floating between units required
No on-call responsibilities
Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required (hardstop)
Community hospital experience required
Epic charting experience required
Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patients required
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management required
Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and medication administration including IV vasopressors required
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and CVA care required
2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
Provide emergency department nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
Teaching hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
Previous charge experience preferred
Dress code requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
Free parking available in designated employee/visitor surface lots
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests should be submitted upfront during the application process
First-time travelers will be considered if they hold over 2 years of ED experience
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a lower bill rate
Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
