Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical field and assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures.
- Set up instruments, equipment, and supplies according to procedure requirements.
- Maintain accurate counts and support safe handling of instruments and materials.
- Anticipate surgeon needs and respond promptly to intraoperative requests.
- Follow established infection control and OR safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the OR team to support efficient case flow.
Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (or equivalent required certification for surgical technology).
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Experience working in the cardiovascular OR (CVOR) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, OR workflow, and surgical instrumentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining safety and accuracy.
