Patient Care: Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage pain and symptoms to ensure patient comfort.
Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Emotional Support: Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families, helping them navigate the challenges of end-of-life care.
Family Education: Educate family members about the patient's condition, care needs, and available resources for support.
Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records and document patient status, treatment plans, and any changes in condition.
Qualifications
Education: A valid nursing license (RN) is required, with a focus on hospice or palliative care preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in nursing, particularly in hospice or end-of-life care, is highly beneficial. Typically, 1-3 years of experience is expected, depending on the work environment.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, compassion, and the ability to work as part of a healthcare team are essential.
