    Description

    American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring TX or compact RN license and 2 years of ED experience.

    Details

  • Emergency Department setting within a Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Certified facility
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • No floating between units required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Weekend requirement of 6 weekends per 6-week period
  • Block scheduling approved but not required
  • Epic EMR experience required

    Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hardstop requirement)
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient care required
  • IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management skills required
  • Neurological assessment skills including CVA care required
  • Experience with IV vasopressors and management of dysrhythmias required
  • Isolation precautions/PPE and triage skills required
  • Teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred

    Additional Information

  • Provide emergency department nursing care including triage, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring in a fast-paced trauma center environment
  • Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
  • Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
  • First-time travelers will be considered only if they hold over 2 years of ED experience
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
  • Experience

    TNCC Certification, RN License, Personal protective equipment (PPE) use, PALS Certification, Cardiac rhythm analysis, Patient assessment, BLS Certification, Isolation techniques (health monitoring and safety measures), In-hospital emergency response experience, ACLS Certification, Monitoring and managing IVs, Central Line Care, Emergency medical trauma care, Acute care facility experience, Collecting samples for laboratory testing, Experience working with cardiac care patients, Clinical information systems, NIHSS Certification, Emergency medicine, Neurology, Patient charting, Patient treatment, Cardiovascular patient monitoring, Experience working with individuals with neurological conditions
