Gastroenterology (GI) Triage Nurse

Position Summary: Gastroenterology Triage Nurse

MGI has an immediate opening for a full-time RN, to work as part of a team of highly experienced GI nurses providing triage, coordination of care, and patient education to patients with a broad array of GI conditions and illnesses. This role is a perfect combination of patient-forward nursing care.

Job Duties:

· Act as a liaison between patients and Providers to communicate symptoms, questions, and needs.

· Communication of test results and Provider recommendations via phone and through the electronic medical record (EMR)

· Documentation of patient interactions in the EMR

· Organization, prioritization, and management of a task list within the EMR

· Work on the phone and on a computer in an office environment

· E-prescribing of medications per Provider order

· Collaboration with other departments within the organization to assure patient needs are met

· Collaboration with other Providers in the community to assure continuity of care

· Crosstrain to in-office services, such as infusion, therapeutic phlebotomy, and IV iron infusion

Requirements:

· Current RN license in good standing

· 2-3 years RN experience required

· Preference for GI nursing experience, but not required

· BLS for Healthcare Provider

· Exceptional written, verbal, and phone communication skills

· Previous experience with Microsoft

· Attention to detail and ability to critically appraise patient questions and needs via phone and within the EMR

· Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and reasoning while investigating and problem solving

· Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced workflow

· Ability to confidently and articulately communicate and coordinate care with APRN’s and Providers.

Pay: $41.00 - $44.00 per hour
