Description
American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of PICU experience.
Details
Pediatric ICU unit within a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
1:2 patient ratios
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Self-scheduling required with 3 shifts per week, consecutive or split
Variable weekend requirement
Float required to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units
No on-call requirements
Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required at time of submission
BLS and PALS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
Epic charting experience required
Skills required: respiratory suctioning (ETT, NT), care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line/implanted line care, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, hydrocephalus/VP shunt management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE
Preferred skills: intubation assist/management, chest tube management, PICC line management, EVD care, ICP monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, post cardiac surgery care, telemetry monitoring
2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting
Additional Information
Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU setting
May float to sister facilities within the state as needed
Navy scrubs required for RNs
Free parking available in unrestricted spaces, with bike racks on site
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests should be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
