About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings in Wichita, Kansas. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in diverse clinical environments, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing expertise, a passion for patient advocacy, and the flexibility to adapt to different medical specialties. As a Travel Tele RN, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services, coordinate patient assessments, and ensure adherence to healthcare standards while supporting the continuity of care across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform appropriate care plans.
Administer medications and injections with precision, following aseptic techniques and established protocols.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation of patient information and medical records management.
Perform specialized procedures including IV infusion, suturing, catheterization, and ventilator management as required by clinical settings.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and healthcare standards.
Provide triage services by evaluating patient symptoms and determining urgency levels for appropriate intervention or referral.
Support patients with complex conditions such as infectious diseases, trauma cases, geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, or behavioral health issues with compassionate care and clinical expertise.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient information throughout the care process.
Requirements
Valid RN license for Kansas or multistate license at time of submission; no exceptions.
AHA BLS certification required at time of submission.
Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry experience and 2 years RN experience required.
Education level: ADN or BSN.
Immunity or vaccination proof for Hep B, MMR, Varicella (via titer or vaccination series completion), TDaP, Influenza (or exemption during flu season), and TB.
No first-time travelers.
Experience with Epic charting system (testing out option available).
Flexibility regarding start dates due to possible schedule adjustments.
Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and rotate holidays per facility policy.
Ability to float to other post-surgical and med-surg inpatient floors.
Vaccination compliance as specified.
Experience in Med/Surg Trauma, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic surgical units preferred.
Experience with post-operative spinal surgery, neurosurgery (e.g., craniotomy, hemorrhagic stroke), orthopedic injuries, trauma injuries (e.g., GSW, MVC, crush injuries, falls), traumatic brain injuries preferred.
Ability to adapt to unit-specific protocols and be flexible with orientation start dates preferred.
Experience with Epic system (preferred but not mandatory if testing out).
