About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care to pediatric patients in a dynamic emergency department setting. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise in pediatric emergency care, critical care, and specialized nursing skills will make a significant impact on young patients and their families. Duties
Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to pediatric patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine severity and prioritize interventions.
Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, utilizing aseptic techniques while monitoring for adverse reactions.
Manage airway support, ventilator use, and oxygen therapy for critically ill children requiring advanced respiratory support.
Coordinate diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory tests, imaging procedures (including CT scans), and specimen collection with multidisciplinary teams.
Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide family-centered education on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care tailored to pediatric needs.
Collaborate with trauma teams in Level I and Level II trauma centers to deliver trauma medicine and acute pain management efficiently.
Support triage processes by prioritizing cases based on acuity levels while working within emergency room protocols.
Assist in procedures such as suturing, catheterization, ostomy care, and neonatal resuscitation procedures when necessary.
Requirements
Current, valid RN license in state of practice, or temporary/interim RN licensure, or compact RN licensure for current state.
Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)
Must have a minimum of 1 recent year in Peds-ER and 2 years RN experience
BLS certification.
Must possess advanced clinical performance competencies demonstrated through annual validation.
Additional certifications or continuing education may be required based on the specific clinical area.
Experience in leadership, supervision, or mentorship roles is implied but not explicitly required; may be preferred.
