Description
American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a 13-week assignment at a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center requiring at least 1 year of PICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
Pediatric ICU setting within a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
Patient ratios of 1:1-2
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
Self-scheduling required, allowing consecutive or split 3-shift weeks
Weekend rotation required (variable)
No on-call responsibilities
Floating required to Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units, as well as possibly sister facilities
Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
BLS and PALS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and chest tube management
Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and medication administration including vasopressors and continuous sedation
Familiarity with neurologic monitoring such as EVD, ICP monitoring, and VP shunt care
Cardiovascular skills including hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
Additional Information
Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
Navy scrubs required for RNs
Free parking available in unrestricted spaces, with bike racks on site
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront during consideration, with limited flexibility afterward
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
Only one submission allowed system-wide to Providence facilities at a time
