PRN SCHOOL NURSE
Lower Brule School-Based Health Clinic
FULL-TIME MATERNITY LEAVE COVERAGE
OCTOBER - JANUARY
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate PRN School Nurse to join our school-based health clinic. The position will work full-time during October through January to cover maternity leave, with additional PRN/as-needed hours available throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing care for student illnesses and injuries, including triage, first aid, and emergency response.
Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations as ordered by the healthcare provider.
Monitor students with chronic health conditions and maintain appropriate care plans.
Coordinate care and referrals with parents/guardians, school staff, and healthcare providers.
Conduct health screenings, including vision, hearing, and lice checks, as assigned.
Maintain accurate EHR, Medicaid, laboratory quality-control, and other clinic documentation.
Assist with patient registration, records, and other clinic duties as needed.
Qualifications
Current RN license preferred; LPN applicants will be considered.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, community health, or a clinical setting preferred.
Must enjoy working with children and provide compassionate, professional care.
Knowledge of Native American communities and Tribal health systems is beneficial.
