Responsibilities
Provide skilled nursing care across labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn care settings. Support patients and families throughout obstetrical care, collaborate with the care team, administer medications and therapies safely, monitor maternal and fetal status, and document care accurately.

Certifications:
- ACLS
- AWHONN Advanced (required)
- AWHONN Intermediate
- BLS
- NRP
Charting and clinical skills:
- Epic charting is preferred
- IV therapy and phlebotomy, including administration of blood and blood products, drawing venous blood (required), starting and maintaining IVs, and using infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
- Labor and delivery management, including amnioinfusion (required), assisting with high-risk delivery (required), assisting with vaginal delivery, forceps or vacuum extraction, hemorrhage and shock care, and sterile vaginal examination
- Medication administration, including antihypertensives, insulin drips (required), magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), prostaglandins, and terbutaline
- Neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scores, serving as the baby nurse or “baby catcher” (required), ID and security banding, radiant warmers, and thermoregulation
- Newborn care, including assisting with circumcision and assessing the site postoperatively (required), car seat education (required), cord care, discharge teaching for parents, infant identification, metabolic screening (required), neonatal abstinence syndrome care, newborn assessment, newborn hypoglycemia care, phototherapy (required), teaching circumcision care to parents, and thermoregulation
- Postpartum care and procedures, including breastfeeding and lactation support, Foley catheter insertion and management, fundus, lochia, and perineum care, and wound assessment and care
- Postpartum care for patients with cesarean section, couplet care, multiple births (required), postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and vaginal delivery
- Pain management, including epidural anesthesia and pain assessment and management
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Vaccine administration
- LDRP work setting experience
- Fetal monitoring, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, external fetal monitoring, internal fetal monitoring (required), and IUPC placement and calibration (required)
- Triage of obstetrical patients

Experience
- At least 1 year of nursing experience, with LDRP experience noted.
