Duties

Administer medications accurately and safely according to physician orders, including injections, IV infusions, and oral medications.

Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate responses to medication therapy.

Maintain detailed and compliant medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or developmental disabilities.

Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, and processing as needed for comprehensive patient care.

Provide education to patients and their families regarding medication regimens, side effects, and health management strategies.

Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information.

Participate in discharge planning, case management activities, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Experience

Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, trauma centers, emergency rooms), skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, or home care settings.

Demonstrated proficiency in medication administration techniques including IV insertion, catheterization, phlebotomy, and sterile procedures.

Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology relevant to senior care and acute care patients.

Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and clinical workflows.

Background in managing complex cases involving pain management, infectious disease care, hospice services, or behavioral health is highly desirable.

Knowledge of long-term care regulations and experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Additional experience in specialty areas such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (dermal fillers), or pediatric care (neonatal ventilator) is a plus.

Pay: $31.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
