We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neonatal patients within the NICU, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention based on individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments with precision, including IV infusions, ventilator management, and medication administration.
Perform advanced procedures such as neonatal resuscitation, catheterization, and aseptic technique during invasive interventions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care strategies aligned with best practices and hospital protocols.
Maintain meticulous medical documentation utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Conduct patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physiological evaluations to detect changes in condition promptly.
Educate families on neonatal care procedures, discharge instructions, and ongoing health management.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on infection control, trauma medicine, and acute care standards.
Support emergency response efforts including trauma medicine protocols and critical & intensive care procedures.
Stay current with evolving clinical guidelines related to neonatal resuscitation procedures and infectious disease care.
Skills
Proven experience working in NICU settings with neonatal ventilator management and neonatal resuscitation procedures.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to neonatal patients.
Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, catheter care, and aseptic technique.
Familiarity with advanced critical care practices including ventilator management and acute pain management.
Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and interpret diagnostic evaluations effectively.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and educating families.
Knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance standards.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is a plus.
AHA Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required.
At least (2) years of exp. in a Level I NICU
MUST have travel experience
