American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring at least one year of experience and prior travel contract experience.
Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center hospital
Patient ratio of 1:5
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
Every other weekend required
Floating required between units and possibly sister facilities
No on-call responsibilities
Epic EMR experience required
Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
At least one prior travel contract required (seasoned traveler)
Epic charting system experience required
Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy and telemetry monitoring required
Experience with blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and feeding tube care preferred
Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Solid navy blue scrub attire required for licensed nursing personnel
Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including location and dates
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the consideration process; post-offer time off requests may not be granted
First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
Experience
Telemetry, RN License, BLS Certification, In-hospital emergency response experience, Travel nursing, ACLS Certification, Collecting samples for laboratory testing, Clinical information systems, NIHSS Certification, Patient charting, Cardiovascular patient monitoring
