American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience.
Work in the Pediatric MedSurg unit of a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Patient ratios of 1:3-5
Weekend coverage required, 5 shifts within a 6-week period
On-call requirements based on unit census
Floating between units required, with potential floating to sister facilities
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
BLS and PALS certifications required
Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Pediatric experience preferred
Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen delivery systems
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/implanted line care
Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and breastfeeding support
Knowledge of hyperbilirubinemia management
Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE use
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in a MedSurg setting

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be accepted at a lower bill rate
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Scrub color required: Navy for RNs

Experience
RN License, PALS Certification, Cardiac rhythm analysis, BLS Certification, Isolation techniques (health monitoring and safety measures), Working with pediatric populations, Personal protective equipment (PPE) adherence, Monitoring and managing IVs, Collecting samples for laboratory testing, Experience working with cardiac care patients, Clinical information systems, Breastfeeding support, Safety equipment, Cardiovascular patient monitoring
