Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and established protocols, including IV infusions and medication administration for diverse patient populations.
Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, ventilator care, and ostomy care with precision and adherence to safety standards.
Manage acute pain and critical conditions by implementing appropriate interventions in fast-paced environments like emergency rooms or ICU settings.
Coordinate patient care plans through case management strategies, discharge planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine or hospice & palliative medicine contexts.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining meticulous medical records and documentation of all patient interactions.
Provide education on health coaching, medication management, and disease prevention tailored to individual needs across geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, or developmental disabilities populations.
Qualifications
Valid nursing license with current registration; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in ICD-10/ICD-9 coding is advantageous.
Prior clinical experience in diverse settings including ICU, emergency medicine, labor & delivery, dialysis units, or long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation.
Skilled in performing complex procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and triage protocols.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; familiarity with trauma medicine or level I & II trauma center standards is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients of all ages—children to seniors—and multidisciplinary healthcare teams committed to delivering compassionate patient-centered care.
