MDS Specialist RN - Dunklau Gardens - Full Time - Days - Nebraska Methodist Fremont Dunklau Gardens
Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a detail-oriented healthcare professional to oversee timely and accurate resident assessments and care plans in compliance with federal and state regulations. This role includes identifying resident needs, coordinating interdisciplinary care, supporting communication with families, and managing both clinical and fiscal operations of the nursing department. Is proactive in ensuring regulatory compliance with Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) processes.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Completes and codes MDS assessments accurately per RAI Manual, OBRA, and PPS regulations.
Assesses resident information to identify problems, determine acuity, and guide care planning.
Develops individualized care plans using nursing diagnoses and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Utilizes resident strengths and data to set goals and create effective, outcome-driven plans of care.
Revises care plans as resident conditions change to support optimal health outcomes.
Communicates MDS findings and care needs clearly with interdisciplinary teams and families.
Coordinates timely completion and submission of MDS assessments in compliance with regulatory schedules.
Ensures accurate MDS encoding, transmission, and validation to support billing and regulatory standards.
Uses assessment data to plan for discharge and ensure smooth care transitions.
Reviews and validates MDS coding to ensure compliance and correct reimbursement through PPS.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm routinely, flexibility appreciated
Salary:
Pay starts at $38.00 an hour and may increase based on work history/experience.
Job Requirements:
Graduated from an accredited Diploma School of Nursing/College of Nursing with an Associates of Science Degree in Nursing (ASN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
MDS (Minimum Data Set) Coordinator Certification preferred.
Three years of experience in Long Term Care (LTC) required.
Three to Five years previous MDS experience preferred.
Resident Assessment Instrument training preferred.
