About the Job
As a Travel ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN), you'll provide specialized critical care to post-operative and critically ill patients recovering from major surgical procedures, trauma, and complex medical conditions. ICU nurses care for some of the hospital's most vulnerable patients who require continuous monitoring, advanced interventions, and expert nursing assessment as they recover from anesthesia and surgery.
You'll monitor hemodynamic status, manage ventilators and advanced life support equipment, administer critical medications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure the highest level of patient care. Your ability to recognize subtle changes in patient condition and intervene quickly can have a direct impact on recovery and patient outcomes.

What You'll Do
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill surgical and trauma patients
Monitor patients recovering from major surgical procedures and anesthesia
Perform advanced patient assessments and interpret complex physiologic data
Manage ventilators, airway support, and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
Administer medications, titrated drips, IV therapies, blood products, and critical care treatments
Monitor hemodynamic status and respond to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Assist with bedside procedures, catheterization, invasive monitoring, and sterile interventions
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations
Document patient care accurately within Epic, Cerner, and other EMR systems
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and critical care standards
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of recent ICU, Surgical ICU (SICU), Critical Care, or Trauma ICU nursing experience required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Strong critical-thinking, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills
Experience with ventilator management, advanced cardiac monitoring, and critical care protocols
Ability to perform effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
