We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Clinic Nurse to join our healthcare team in North Dakota. This vital role involves providing comprehensive nursing care within a specialized travel clinic setting, supporting patients preparing for international travel, and managing a wide array of immunizations and health assessments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diverse nursing practices, including medical documentation, patient assessment, and infection control, ensuring safe and effective care delivery. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough pre-travel consultations, including risk assessments and personalized health advice tailored to international destinations.
Administer vaccinations and immunizations such as yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis A/B, and other travel-related vaccines using aseptic techniques.
Perform clinical procedures including venipuncture for laboratory specimen collection, IV infusion administration, suturing, and ostomy care as needed.
Manage patient records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on disease prevention strategies, medication management, and post-travel health monitoring.
Assist with triage of acute illnesses related to travel or general health concerns, prioritizing urgent cases effectively.
Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques during clinical procedures.
Support the coordination of follow-up care and discharge planning for travelers returning with health issues.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians specializing in infectious disease care, geriatrics, or primary care to optimize patient outcomes.
Stay current with evolving travel medicine guidelines and public health advisories to provide accurate information.
Experience
Proven nursing experience in diverse settings such as medical office environments, urgent care clinics, or hospital-based outpatient departments.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and data management.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special healthcare needs is highly desirable.
Background in infection control practices, immunization administration, and specimen collection is essential.
Prior exposure to travel medicine or public health initiatives is advantageous.
Critical care experience such as ICU or emergency room settings enhances the ability to manage acute situations effectively.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and laboratory procedures supports comprehensive patient assessments.
Familiarity with occupational health protocols and Workers' Compensation law is beneficial for managing work-related travel health concerns.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of patient care across diverse populations.

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
