HAALO Respite Resorts – Adult Residential Facility (ARF) Location: Menifee, California Compensation: $75.00–$125.00 per hour Position Type: Part-Time, Consulting Role Minimum Hours: 16 hours per six-month period, with additional hours as needed

About HAALO Respite Resorts

HAALO Innovations, LLC operates HAALO Respite Resorts, a specialized Adult Residential Facility (ARF) serving adults and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and significant support needs.

HAALO is seeking a qualified California-licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as the facility's RN Consultant, providing clinical guidance, resident-specific health-care consultation, staff training, documentation oversight, and support with Restricted Health Condition Plan (RHCP) requirements.

The RN Consultant will collaborate with the Facility Administrator, interdisciplinary team (IDT), direct-support professionals, physicians, and Regional Center representatives to promote safe, compliant, and person-centered care.

Position Overview

This is a flexible, part-time consulting position supporting the health-care needs of residents in a specialized residential setting.

The position requires a minimum of 16 consulting hours per six-month period. However, actual hours may be substantially higher depending on resident acuity, individual health-care needs, RHCP requirements, staff training needs, and other applicable program requirements.

The RN Consultant will provide services according to the needs of the facility and its residents, the agreed-upon scope of responsibilities, and applicable California regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Consultation and Resident Health Care

  • Provide clinical consultation regarding resident health needs, changes in condition, and medical-care coordination.
  • Assist with the development, review, implementation, and monitoring of Restricted Health Condition Plans (RHCPs), as applicable.
  • Provide guidance concerning physician orders, health-care protocols, emergency procedures, and resident-specific medical needs.
  • Collaborate with the IDT regarding person-centered planning, Individual Program Plans (IPPs), and applicable health-care plans.

    Health Records and Documentation

  • Review health records, physician orders, medication documentation, medical appointments, and related clinical records.
  • Document consultations, assessments, recommendations, training, competency evaluations, and plan reviews as applicable.
  • Recommend updates to health-care plans and protocols when resident conditions or needs change.

    Medication and Health-Care Procedures

  • Provide consultation regarding medication-related procedures, medication changes, documentation, and medication errors.
  • Provide guidance regarding restricted health conditions, injections, and other applicable health-care procedures.
  • Provide or oversee training and competency evaluations for health-care tasks when permitted by law and appropriate to the RN's scope of practice.

    Staff Training and Competency

  • Provide or oversee training related to resident-specific health conditions, RHCPs, medication assistance, infection prevention, emergency response, documentation, and recognition of changes in condition.
  • Identify staff training needs and support competency-based education.
  • Provide additional training and clinical guidance as resident needs change.

    Care Coordination and Regulatory Support

  • Collaborate with the Facility Administrator, IDT, physicians, Regional Center representatives, direct-support staff, and other qualified professionals.
  • Participate in care-planning meetings and interdisciplinary discussions as appropriate.
  • Support compliance with applicable California Title 17, Title 22, Department of Developmental Services (DDS), licensing, and health-care requirements.

    Resident Population and Support Needs

HAALO serves individuals who may have significant or profound support needs. Residents may be nonverbal, incontinent, and require extensive or total assistance with activities of daily living and personal care.

Some residents may also have complex behavioral support needs, including disruptive behaviors or a history of physical aggression that may have resulted in injury.

Candidates should be comfortable providing clinical guidance in a residential environment where medical, personal-care, and behavioral support needs may overlap.

    Qualifications

    Required

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
  • Ability to provide clinical services within the RN's legal scope of practice.
  • Strong clinical judgment, documentation, communication, and care-coordination skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals and provide staff education.
  • Professional liability insurance appropriate to the consulting services provided.
  • Ability to complete required documentation, training, and consultation responsibilities.

    Preferred

  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Regional Center experience, including familiarity with RHCPs and applicable program requirements.
  • Adult Residential Facility (ARF) or other residential-care experience.
  • Experience with medication oversight, physician orders, complex health conditions, and changes in resident status.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, or monitoring RHCPs.
  • Knowledge of applicable California Title 17, Title 22, and DDS requirements.

    Schedule and Consulting Expectations

The consulting schedule will be flexible and based on facility operations and resident needs. Services may include:

  • On-site visits, potentially monthly or more frequently as needed.
  • A minimum of 16 consulting hours per six-month period.
  • Additional consultation hours based on resident-specific medical needs and applicable requirements.
  • Telephone and email consultation.
  • Health-record reviews and clinical documentation oversight.
  • Resident-specific assessments and care coordination.
  • Staff training and competency evaluations.
  • Participation in IDT meetings and care-planning discussions as appropriate.

The 16-hour minimum is not a cap. Additional hours may be necessary to meet resident needs, maintain appropriate clinical oversight, fulfill applicable program requirements, and provide required training and documentation.

    Compensation

The anticipated hourly rate is $75.00–$125.00, depending on qualifications, relevant experience, and the scope of consulting services.
