American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least one prior travel contract and a TX or compact RN license.
Med/Surg Tele unit in a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center hospital
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Patient ratio of 1:5
Floating between units and sister facilities required
Every other weekend required
No on-call responsibilities
Epic EMR used, experience required
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required
At least one prior travel contract required (seasoned traveler)
Epic charting system experience required
Skilled in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and medication protocols such as heparin and PCA preferred
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
Dress code requires solid navy blue scrubs or uniforms for licensed nursing staff
Free employee parking available in designated surface lots
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer time off requests may not be granted
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
Former permanent employees may return after a 3-month break if located more than 50 miles from the facility
First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
Experience
Telemetry, RN License, Cardiac rhythm analysis, BLS Certification, Travel nursing, ACLS Certification, Monitoring and managing IVs, Experience working with cardiac care patients, Clinical information systems, NIHSS Certification, Patient charting, Cardiovascular patient monitoring
