About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Obstetric and Gynecology Registered Nurse (Ob/Gyn RN) to provide exceptional patient care in diverse clinical settings across Picayune, Mississippi. This role offers an exciting opportunity for nurses with a passion for women's health, obstetrics, and gynecology to deliver comprehensive care in a dynamic travel nursing environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. This position involves working within various healthcare facilities, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and specialty centers, ensuring that patients receive personalized and effective treatment.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic nursing care, including pre- and postnatal assessments, labor support, and gynecological examinations.
Perform detailed patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and documentation utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization, IV insertion, and sterile technique adherence during clinical interventions.
Manage acute pain and provide supportive care for patients experiencing complex conditions related to obstetrics or gynecology.
Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal care, contraception options, and post-operative instructions while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans for patients with high-risk pregnancies or gynecological disorders.
Maintain proficiency in emergency response procedures including neonatal resuscitation procedures and trauma medicine within Level I or Level II trauma center environments.
Support laboratory specimen collection, processing, and accurate medical documentation to facilitate diagnostic evaluation.
Demonstrate expertise in infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine principles, and long-term care practices when applicable.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 2 years Ob/Gyn experience and 2 years experience as a RN
RN Licensure in Mississippi
BLS/ACLS/NRP/STABLE/Fetal Heart Monitor certs are required
Epic experience required
Willingness to work 12hr nights and every other weekend required
