Part-time Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant – American Indian Clinical Trials Research Network - Rapid City (AICTRN-RC)
LOCATION: Rapid City, SD
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduation/GED, 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
JOB FUNCTION: The successful applicant will be responsible for drawing blood from clinical trial participants and performing simple labs such as point-of-care pregnancy and COVID-19 testing. Must be familiar with basic medical terminology and HIPAA. The part-time Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant will work in a team environment with a Clinical Trial Research Principal Investigator, Clinical Trial Research Nurse, CNA, and lead receptionist. The position requires the applicant to greet trial participants, obtain and process blood samples, and oversee essential paperwork. May also include some data entry, ordering, computer skills and filing according to Health Information Management and AICTRN-RC standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certified phlebotomist or equivalent, preferred history of working with Indian Health Service or American Indian Tribes or communities but not required; excellent organizational and administrative abilities; and superior communication skills. Personal computer skills, including Internet, Windows, and MS Office. Requires sensitivity and ability to work well with people.
