Job Summary
Pay Rate: $60–$70 per hour
Location: Arcata, California 95518
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 × 8-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Overtime: After 40 hours/week
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm Preferred
We are seeking an experienced Utilization Review Nurse / Case Manager / Discharge Planner for an opportunity in Arcata, California. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment, utilization review, care coordination, and discharge planning experience.
Temp-to-perm candidates are strongly preferred. This opportunity is intended for candidates interested in transitioning to permanent employment rather than pursuing a long-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct utilization reviews to assess medical necessity and appropriateness of care.
Coordinate patient care plans with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate post-acute care services.
Review medical records and ensure appropriate documentation.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and other stakeholders.
Monitor patient progress and support timely, safe, and cost-effective care transitions.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in Utilization Review, Case Management, or Discharge Planning.
Active California nursing license.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Proof of a negative TB screening completed within the past 12 months.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and care coordination skills.
Ability to work five 8-hour shifts per week.
