American Traveler is hiring an LPN with at least 1 year of cardiology clinic experience for a Cardiology Clinic within a Heart and Vascular Institute, working 8-hour day shifts.
Work in a Cardiology Clinic within the Heart and Vascular Institute
Patient population includes general cardiology, electrophysiology (EP), vascular surgery, arrhythmias, shortness of breath, cardiac clearances, hypertension, POTS, swelling, CHF management, abnormal stress tests, and pre- and post-cath patients
Approximately 22 patients per day
EMR: Epic experience required within the last 1-2 years
Medication dispensing via Omnicell
Scheduled for 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
No weekend rotation and no on-call requirements
May be required to float within HVI Cardiac Clinics
License required if applicable
Minimum 1 year of Cardiology clinic experience required
Current BLS certification required
Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
Epic EMR experience required within the last 1-2 years
Knowledge of cardiac diagnoses, conditions, and medications including beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, and antiarrhythmics, with ability to provide patient education
Ability to identify and flag abnormal EKGs
Comfortable providing patient education before and after cardiac procedures
Familiarity with medication refill protocols
Work alongside a care team including EKG technicians, clinical assistants, lead RN, nursing manager, MDs, and APPs
May be asked to assist with rooming patients, typically handled by clinical assistants
Unit orientation includes 3-4 days working side by side with a nurse
Facility is closed for major holidays
Time-off requests must be approved by the manager
Navy blue scrubs required

First-time travelers considered only with at least 1 year of experience specifically in a cardiac/cardiovascular clinic
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler
Travelers must live more than 100 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
