American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital requiring 2 years of case management experience and a ND or compact RN license.
Acute care Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting in the Case Management department
Covers inpatient, observation, and swing bed areas
Handles UR for Notice of Admission (NOA) and discharge planning
Caseload of 8-10 patients per day
Common patient types include COPD, CHF, and debility for swing bed patients
Uses MEDITECH EMR
No clinical involvement required
Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 0700-1530
No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
No CM Manager/Supervisor present on each shift
Active RN license (ND State or Compact) required, pending licenses not accepted
BLS (AHA) certification required
CCM (Certified Case Manager) preferred but not required
Minimum of 2 full years of case management experience required
Insurance portal experience required
BSN not required
No InterQual or Milliman experience required
Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
Responsibilities include utilization review and discharge planning for inpatient, observation, and swing bed patients
A market Care Manager will be available as a mentor throughout the assignment
2-3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
Pharmacy involved in discharge planning; respiratory therapy not involved
Dress code is any scrubs or business casual
Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
