Beds: 12 (including Triage)
Experience- 2 years
First-time traveler- Upon Review
Patient Types:
Neonates to geriatrics, various types of illnesses, majority of patients are adults
Patient Ratios:
1-5, up to 6 rarely (acuity based)
Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS, De-escalation training (MOAB or CPI)
Skills required
General ED skillset, chest tubes, drips, IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, cardiac rhythm interpretation
Support on the Unit:
CNA (Ratio – 1:12)
Charge nurse: does this person have patient load: No titled Charge RN in the ED
Phlebotomy team: ED RN s will perform phlebotomy at the bedside
Resource Nurse, Lead RN functions as a resource
RT – in house 24/7: Yes
Hospitalist – in house 24/7: Yes
Bedside and Nursing station telemetry – no tele tech
Charting System/Equipment:
Epic
Client monitors
Alaris
Pyxis
Floating: No
Orientation:
1 shift on the unit to learn the flow
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Yes, every other
Can we approve time off: (typically we are able to approve up to 7 days without approval) Yes, But consideration should also be given to staffing needs of the department.

Holiday Expectations: varies, based on unit need
