About This Position

Join Our Team as a Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Professional in Richland, WA

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics professional to join our Respiratory Therapy NICU team. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide specialized respiratory care in a Level III or IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, working nights and making a profound difference in the lives of our most vulnerable patients. Shift & Schedule

  • Night Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts
  • Hours: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Requirements and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, including must have NICU Level III or IV experience
  • Experienced in Emergency Department care is required
  • Proficient in Epic charting system
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CRT or RRT, NRP, PALS or ENPC, RRT
  • Preferred experience working in Trauma Level I or II settings
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in adult critical care, NICU, and emergency care settings
  • Skilled in the care of patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
  • Neonatal/Pediatrics equipment and procedures experience, including:
    • Direct Neonatal Intubation (required)
    • High frequency jet ventilator and oscillator use (required)
    • Pressure/Volume ventilator operation (required)
    • Umilical blood gas sampling (required)
    • Assisting in high-risk deliveries, Bubble CPAP, CPAP/BiPAP
  • Extensive oxygen therapy experience: bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, oxygen tanks, T-piece, trach collar
  • Strong ventilator management skills including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning mechanical ventilation
  • Proficient in arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
  • Expertise in airway management and suctioning: extubation, intubation assistance, nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
  • Medication administration experience, including Nitric Oxide (INo)
  • Required pulmonary function experience in spirometry
  • Travel experience is not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced respiratory care and monitoring for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients within the NICU Level III/IV setting
  • Perform direct intubations and assist in airway management to ensure patient safety and optimal respiratory function
  • Manage ventilators including high frequency jet and oscillator ventilators, ensuring appropriate settings and prompt troubleshooting
  • Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation to assess patient respiratory status and guide clinical decision-making
  • Administer respiratory therapies and medications as prescribed, including nitric oxide therapy
  • Support high-risk deliveries by providing respiratory critical care interventions for newborns
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the Epic charting system
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Current Respiratory Therapy licensure with CRT or RRT certification
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS or ENPC
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, including NICU Level III or IV experience
  • Proficient in Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills
  • Ability to work night shifts consistently (7 PM - 7 AM)
