Join Our Team as a Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics professional to join our team in Medford, OR. Shift Information

  • Night Shift: 3x12 hours
  • Hours: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Unit: PMMC Sleep Lab

Requirements and Skills

  • Charting System: Required experience with Epic
  • Certifications: BLS, Oregon Polysomnography License, RPSGT
  • Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
  • Travel Experience: Not required
  • Technical Skills Include:
    • Monitoring: End-Tidal CO2, Cardiac abnormalities, ECG, EEG, O2 Saturation, Periodic Limb Movement (PLM), PSG, Respiratory Inductance Plethysmography (RIP)
    • Study Types: Adult Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Baseline Sleep Polysomnography, Home Sleep Test
    • Staging and Scoring: Arousal, Cheyne-Stokes, Complex Sleep Apnea, Hypopnea, Periodic Breathing, PSG scoring, Respiratory Events, Sleep Stages, Transient arousals
    • Titration Techniques: ASV, BiPAP, CPAP, Oxygen administration, VPAP
    • Mask Fitting: Full Face, Nasal Mask, Nasal Pillow
    • Work Setting Experience: Hospital
    • Professional Skills: Infection control, Patient education
    • Equipment Familiarity: ResMed devices

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive sleep diagnostic studies including polysomnography and multiple sleep latency testing according to established protocols.
  • Accurately stage and score sleep studies and respiratory events using recognized standards.
  • Monitor patient physiology during sleep studies, including cardiac, respiratory, and neurological parameters, utilizing specialized equipment.
  • Administer titration protocols such as CPAP, BiPAP, ASV, and oxygen therapy to optimize patient treatment plans.
  • Ensure proper mask fitting for therapeutic devices to maximize patient comfort and effectiveness.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation using the Epic charting system to ensure accurate patient records and compliance.
  • Provide patient education on sleep disorders, equipment use, and therapy compliance.
  • Adhere to infection control practices and safety protocols within the clinical setting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient-centered care in the hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • Current Oregon Polysomnography License and Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience with sleep study monitoring and scoring, including familiarity with advanced respiratory and neurological monitoring technologies.
  • Proficient in the use of Epic electronic health records for patient documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts in a hospital-based sleep lab setting.
  • Commitment to maintaining infection control standards and patient safety.
