Requirements & Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for practice in the state of North Dakota
- Experience working in an Operating Room (OR) or surgical specialty preferred
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and protocols
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in documenting patient care and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations
- Demonstrated ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies
- Monitor patient’s vital signs and status during surgery, anticipating and responding to changes
- Maintain sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols
- Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and post-operative care when appropriate
- Document nursing interventions and patient information accurately and timely
- Participate in ongoing staff education and professional development activities
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing
- Minimum of one year of experience in an OR or surgical nursing setting preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred but not required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification a plus
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $66.00 - $79.00
