Requirements
- Acute Care Experience: 1 year of acute care experience is required
- Charting: Epic (required)
- Certifications: BLS
- Travel Experience: Not required
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and develop appropriate speech/language plans of care
- Complete required documentation, including evaluation, assessment, and discharge
- Provide home exercise program (HEP) instruction
- Deliver patient and family education
- Support safe mobility and therapy using required patient-safety equipment and procedures
- Coordinate and deliver therapy across required patient care areas and populations, including neurology and orthopedics
Clinical Skills & Competencies
- Work Settings (all required): Acute Care, Outpatient Clinic, Rehabilitation Hospital, Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
- Assessments: Body mechanics
- Orthopedics (required areas): Cervicalgia, low back pain, spinal conditions, gait training, hip fractures/injuries
- Ortho Post-Op / Conditions: Post op cervical surgery, post op shoulder repair, post op spinal surgery, total hip replacement, total knee replacement
- Neurologic (required): Neurology, cognitive disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury
- Equipment & Devices (required): bed alarms, call lights, gait belt, hospital beds/specialty beds, sliding boards
Documentation & Billing
- Documentation (required): Evaluation, Assessment, Discharge
- Billing (required): Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare A
