Take on a rewarding 13-week ER RN contract in Walla Walla, WA with guaranteed 36 hours/week. Work nights (3x12 hours), 19:00–07:00, supporting fast-paced emergency care with strong clinical skills and comprehensive ED readiness.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2 years RN experience
  • Patient Ratio Experience: 1:4
  • Charting System: Required — Epic
  • Travel Experience: Not required
  • Previous Charge Experience: Preferred (charge experience required only for Charge ER requests)
  • Certifications (required): ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-acuity emergency nursing care in a combined adult/pediatric emergency setting
  • Perform triage and implement isolation precautions/PPE as indicated
  • Manage complex patient needs across multiple clinical categories, including respiratory, neurological, and infectious conditions
  • Support safe medication administration and monitoring during emergencies and procedures
  • Prepare for and assist with interventions related to airway, ventilation, hemodynamic support, and trauma care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and charting in Epic
  • Identify, report, and document suspected neglect or abuse according to policy

  • Psychiatric: Acute psychosis, Drug overdose, Managing violent behavior, Psychiatric Hold, Suicidal patient
  • IV Therapy / Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Starting and maintaining IVs, Arterial line management (required)
  • Respiratory: BiPAP/CPAP management, Care of Ventilated Patient (required), Chest tube insertion/management, Interpretation of ABGs, Intubation
  • Medications: Continuous IV paralytics (required), Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, IV vasopressors, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring
  • Neurological: CVA, Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring (required), Neuro-Trauma (required), Spinal cord injury (required), Traumatic Brain injury (required)
  • Work Settings: General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi, Pediatric Emergency Department (required), STEMI Certified Facility (required), Stroke Certified Facility (required)
  • Shock / Trauma: Gunshot wounds, Traumatic amputation
  • Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG
  • Professional Topics & Skills: Isolation Precautions/PPE, Triage
  • Orthopedics: Manage/apply splints, Ortho trauma (required)
