About This Position
BrightStar Care of Palm Springs is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly organized Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about improving patient outcomes, training and mentoring healthcare staff, and elevating the quality of care in a home health setting. You’ll work with a supportive team that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and innovation. At a brand-new location, you’ll have the chance to apply all of your experience and ideas to build a program tailored to deliver excellence and exceed standards. While you’ll have the autonomy to make changes and improvements, you will also have expert guidance and support from our Franchise team with decades of combined experience.

Monday through Friday schedule (After-hours and weekend clinical support may be required occasionally, but these instances are very rare.)
Time will be split between the office and assessments out in the field.
40 hours per week, 5 days M-F
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight to our nursing and caregiving team
Ensure clinical documentation, client care plans, and regulatory compliance meet local, state, and federal requirements
Conduct initial and follow-up nursing assessments to determine individualized care needs
Deliver direct skilled nursing care when needed (very rare, last resort)
Develop and implement policies and procedures to support clinical excellence
Supervise and coach caregiver, clinical, registered nurse (RN) staff, promoting high standards of care
Stay current on home health regulations, best practices, and industry trends
Actively promote BrightStar Care services within the healthcare community
Qualifications:
Registered nurse (RN) with current unencumbered licensure to practice professional nursing in California.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience required including at least one (1) year in home health care preferred.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct staff, caregiver, and other registered nurses (RNs).
Comply with accepted professional standards of practice.
Proven ability to build quality and implement improvements within the operation.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Analytic/Critical thinker.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff and community.
Treat clients, staff and the public with courtesy, respect and presents a positive public image.
Case management skills are a plus
Policy development is a plus
Understands regulatory compliance for State and Federal regulations including but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA
