About This Position

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive emergency care to patients experiencing acute health issues, ensuring rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC

2 years of experience in the ED

Duties

Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations, to determine immediate care needs.

Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, and medication management in accordance with physicians’ orders.

Utilize advanced life support techniques and airway management procedures during critical situations.

Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for emergency patients.

Provide triage services to prioritize patient care based on severity of condition using established protocols.

Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, radiology procedures such as CT scans, and other diagnostic tests.

Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during all procedures.

Support patient education regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.

Participate in ongoing training and simulation exercises to stay current with emergency medicine best practices.

Requirements

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice with current certification.

Proven experience working in an emergency room setting or Level I/II trauma center environment.

Critical care experience including ICU or trauma medicine is highly desirable.

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with EMR/EHR management is preferred.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and emergency response procedures.

Experience with advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), ventilator management, and ostomy care.

Ability to perform complex patient assessments quickly and accurately in high-pressure situations.

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patients’ families.

Additional skills in pain management, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine knowledge are advantageous.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required.

Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), laboratory testing procedures, specimen collection/processing, and HIPAA compliance standards.
