About This Position

Direct Support Professional (DSP) – CNA/HCA/NAR

Full-Time | Paid Training | Supportive Team | Meaningful Work

This job requires:

Current CNA, HCA, or NAR credential

Full-time availability

2 weeks of paid DAYTIME training

Providing personal care, including bathing, toileting, and peri-care

Assisting with medications and meals

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to bend, stand for long periods, and get up and down from the floor

Working with adults with developmental disabilities

Ability to pass a background check

Night shifts are AWAKE shifts. You cannot sleep during the shift.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for kind, dependable caregivers to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).

You will provide individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities in their own home.

This is hands-on, relationship-based care. You will help the people we support stay safe, increase their independence, participate in their community, and enjoy meaningful activities.

We provide extensive paid, hands-on training before you work independently.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Provide respectful, compassionate care

Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, peri-care, and personal hygiene

Administer medications according to established instructions and training

Prepare meals and assist with eating as needed

Support community outings and recreational activities

Help individuals work toward independence and personal goals

Follow individualized behavior support plans

Observe and document care, activities, and progress

Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home

Work closely with other members of the care team

SCHEDULE

FULL-TIME POSITIONS

You must be available for approximately 2 weeks of paid training during daytime hours before beginning your regular work schedule.

All overnight shifts are AWAKE shifts.

REQUIRED BEFORE HIRE

Current CNA, HCA, or NAR credential in good standing

Current CPR/First Aid certification

Ability to pass required background checks

Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to bend, stand for extended periods, and get up and down from the floor

Ability to follow infection-control and health/safety procedures

Dependable attendance and ability to work as part of a team

SPECIALTY TRAINING

We highly prefer applicants who have already completed:

Developmental Disabilities Specialty Training – 16 hours

Nurse Delegation Core Training – 9 hours

Right Response - 16 hours

Already have Specialty Training? Please tell us when you apply!

We know that the 16-hour Developmental Disabilities Specialty Training can be difficult to find. If you are a strong candidate and have not yet completed these courses, CLEAR can arrange and pay for the required training.

You will also receive paid, client-specific training before working independently.
