About This Position
Job Overview
Total Body Pain Institute is a fast-paced, patient-centered interventional pain management clinic in Grand Island. We are expanding to support an additional provider and need an experienced Medical Assistant who can hit the ground running. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians, mid-level providers, nursing staff, and front desk colleagues to ensure efficient patient flow, precise documentation in Cerner, and superior patient service in a high-volume environment. This position requires a licensed/certified Medical Assistant with prior clinical experience and the ability to thrive in a busy specialty clinic.
Responsibilities
Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, stock supplies, and maintain infection control standards
Take and document vital signs and patient measurements; assist with injections and minor procedures
Collect, process, and label specimens as directed; ensure proper handling and routing
Record accurate patient histories, medications, allergies, and consent forms in Cerner
Verify patient identity, insurance information, and scheduling needs; coordinate follow-up appointments
Prepare and process orders for imaging, labs, and medications; manage specimen labeling and transport
Manage routine administrative tasks: charting, referral coordination, and medical record requests
Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
Provide excellent patient-centric service, responding promptly to patient inquiries and concerns
Support clinic throughput during high-volume periods, including assisting with check-in/check-out as needed
Assist with medical-surgical procedures and support physicians during complex interventions in various clinical settings.
Support physicians and mid-level providers with interventional pain procedures and clinic visits
Requirements
Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program;
Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced setting (interventional pain management or specialty clinic preferred)
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
Experience working within EHR systems; familiarity with hospital experience including inpatient care or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray or OR experience are a plus.
Demonstrated ability to perform intake assessments, vital signs collection, and patient care activities efficiently in outpatient or inpatient settings.
Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to work effectively under pressure in emergency medicine or urgent care environments.
Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical scenarios.
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
