About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings in Iowa. This role offers the opportunity to work in diverse clinical environments, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health centers. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing expertise, including critical care experience and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner. As a Travel Tele RN, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services, coordinate patient assessments, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and compassionate care.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and documentation using advanced EMR systems like Epic and Cerner.
Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform aseptic techniques following strict infection control protocols.
Provide specialized care in areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, trauma medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and behavioral health.
Assist with complex procedures including catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, dialysis management, and wound care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and healthcare standards.
Manage acute pain and chronic conditions through appropriate interventions and medication administration.
Support patients with developmental disabilities or memory care requirements while ensuring respectful and inclusive treatment.
Utilize clinical judgment to triage patients effectively in urgent care or emergency room settings.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate medical documentation for legal and billing purposes.
Participate in discharge planning, case management activities, and patient education to promote optimal recovery outcomes.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 1 full recent year in specialty applying for and 2 years as a RN
Valid RN License/Certificate Verification (required for submission; not required onboard)
ACLS Certification (required)
Ability to self-study telemetry strips and pass a Basic Dysrhythmia test out during the first week of assignment
Experience delivering care in Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Geriatric, and Adult patient populations
Flexibility to float to non-critical care inpatient units, including Emergency Department, if needed
Willingness to work approximately 36 hours per week with potential overtime
Critical care experience (occasionally floated to CCU)
Experience with Cerner EMR system
Ability to perform self-studying of telemetry strips and pass the generated test
Bilingual abilities or additional language skills (not explicitly stated but potentially beneficial)
Previous experience working in a telemetry unit similar to the Telemetry/Medical Surgical units described
