About This Position

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care to join our healthcare team in Washington.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive ER experience, demonstrate proficiency with advanced medical systems, and be committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and patient history documentation.

Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, suturing, and medication management aligned with hospital protocols.

Operate advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and telemetry systems to monitor patient status continuously.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with acute conditions.

Perform procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile techniques following infection control standards.

Document all patient interactions thoroughly within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.

Provide triage services for incoming patients, prioritizing based on severity and ensuring timely interventions.

Assist in trauma response scenarios, including Level I and Level II trauma center protocols, ensuring rapid stabilization.

Support discharge planning and patient education to facilitate recovery at home or in long-term care facilities.

Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality.

Requirements

Valid RN license in the state of Washington or eligibility for licensure transfer.

1-2 years of ER or emergency medicine experience in a hospital setting.

Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus.

Strong knowledge of critical care procedures including airway management, acute pain management, and trauma medicine.

Experience working with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Familiarity with advanced nursing skills such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, suturing, and aseptic technique.

Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation processes.

Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations requiring quick decision-making and teamwork.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
