About This Position
Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) is recruiting for a Limited Term Employment (LTE) Certified Nursing Assistant to assist the CWC Day Program. This position will work daytime shifts Monday-Friday. Ideally this position will work 20 hours per week, but days and number of hours can be flexible.

CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. CWC is located at 317 Knutson Drive on the North side of Madison. CWC has a 24/7 fitness center, free parking, and is on the Madison Metro bus route.

Position Summary
In this role, you will you provide care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD); help new residents adjust to their living area; observe and report behavioral, mental, and physical changes in residents; record and summarize information in daily logs, clinical records, etc.; and work cooperatively with others to promote a positive living environment.
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $26.34 and $29.60/hour depending on your years of state service.

This position is classified as Resident Care Technician – Objective and is in pay schedule and range 06/11.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rule that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.
This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 55 lbs., carry, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and balance. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
Qualifications
At a minimum, you’ll need the following:
Current federal and state CNA certification OR have passed the CNA competency exam within the last two months and are waiting for your name to be placed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry.

It’d be great if you also have experience providing direct support services to individuals with intellectual disabilities with mental or behavioral disorders.
